Claire, founder of Unique Self Emergence,  came to me while refining a deeply personal and mission-driven offering for a very specific audience: sensitive women changemakers working within large, complex intergovernmental organizations.

Many of the women arriving at her work were already carrying profound exhaustion, frustration, and emotional overwhelm while trying to alleviate suffering and pursue social justice while feeling increasingly disconnected from their own agency, clarity, and inner rootedness.

My role was to help shape messaging, structure, tone, and narrative cohesion across her website, founder bio, and offering materials so potential clients would immediately feel:

  • seen
  • understood
  • and gently guided toward possibility rather than overwhelm.

A central challenge of the project was recognizing that many potential clients would arrive emotionally exhausted before they ever scheduled a conversation. This meant the writing therefore needed to be both informative and inviting.

A major focus of the work involved helping Claire’s story function relationally rather than simply informationally.

Her credibility emerged not only from professional expertise, but from lived experience:

  • living and working across cultures
  • confronting fragmentation and burnout firsthand
  • and spending more than 30 years developing the work that would eventually become Unique Self Emergence

The messaging needed to communicate:

  • “I understand your experience.”
  • “You are not failing.”
  • “There is another way.”

without collapsing into abstraction or excessive heaviness.

Guiding Questions

Narrative & Editorial Approach

Narrative & Editorial Approach

Throughout the project, I continually returned to questions such as:

  • Does the writing clearly support the purpose of the offering?
  • Is the audience being directly addressed—or asked to work too hard to interpret the message?
  • Does the tone balance validation, urgency, and hope?
  • Are the ideas organized clearly enough to create emotional safet

  • Is the audience being directly addressed—or asked to work too hard to interpret the message?
  • Does the tone balance validation, urgency, and hope?
  • Are the ideas organized clearly enough to create emotional safety and trust?
  • Can complexity be clarified without flattening meaning?
  • Does the structure guide the reader toward deeper engagement?
  • Is the language emotionally resonant while remaining focused and precise?

Outcome

Outcome

The result was a more focused and cohesive narrative experience across Claire’s website and offering materials—one that better aligned her voice, audience, and long-term vision.

The homepage now functions as a clearer, calmer, and more trustworthy entry point into her broader body of work.
